Celebrating 10 years of dedication – Laura’s anniversary at Tucher & Partner

April Blog Posts

A special occasion deserves special words: at Tucher & Partner Ingenieure GmbH – part of SIERA, our colleague Laura is celebrating her 10-year company anniversary.

For an entire decade, Laura has been an integral part of Tucher & Partner Ingenieure GmbH – part of SIERA. Over these years, she has impressed not only through her professional expertise and commitment, but also through her reliability and her consistently positive attitude. She is one of those people others can always count on, and that is exactly what makes her so valuable to Tucher & Partner Ingenieure GmbH – part of SIERA.

Long-standing employees are much more than members of a workforce. They are carriers of experience, contributors to company culture, and often an essential part of what makes a team truly strong. At Tucher & Partner Ingenieure GmbH – part of SIERA, anniversaries like Laura’s are therefore much more than dates on a calendar. They are moments to pause, reflect, and show appreciation for the people who shape the company over many years.

A decade of commitment and reliability

Ten years with one company is not something to be taken for granted. In a working world that is changing rapidly, where professional paths are becoming more dynamic and job changes more frequently, long-term loyalty has gained even greater significance.

That is exactly why Laura’s anniversary is such a meaningful moment for Tucher & Partner Ingenieure GmbH – part of SIERA. Over the past ten years, she has contributed not only her knowledge and skills, but also her loyalty, her team spirit, and her positive presence in everyday work. These qualities cannot be built overnight. They develop over time, through shared experience, trust, and continuity.

For Tucher & Partner Ingenieure GmbH – part of SIERA, long-term employees represent something of lasting value. They know internal processes, understand how teams work together, and carry experience that supports both stability and development. Their contribution reaches far beyond their daily responsibilities.

Why anniversaries matter

Company anniversaries are more than personal milestones. They are also an opportunity to recognize what employee retention truly means. Commitment to a company does not grow through tasks and conditions alone. It grows where people feel seen, valued, and part of a community.

This is clearly reflected in Laura’s 10 years at Tucher & Partner Ingenieure GmbH – part of SIERA. Her anniversary reminds us that appreciation is not only expressed in words, but also in shared moments and genuine recognition. Long-standing collaboration creates trust. Trust strengthens teams. And strong teams are the foundation for sustainable success.

At Tucher & Partner Ingenieure GmbH – part of SIERA, this understanding plays an important role. A company is shaped by the people who contribute to it every day. When colleagues remain committed over many years, they help create a culture that is stable, supportive, and human.

A shared Brotzeit to celebrate the moment

Laura herself created a wonderful sign of appreciation on the occasion of her anniversary. She invited the team to a shared Brotzeit, creating a moment of togetherness beyond the regular working day.

In a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, colleagues came together, left daily routines behind for a while, and simply enjoyed the moment. There was a lot of laughter, stories from past years were shared, and there was even room to look ahead to what lies in the future. These are exactly the kinds of experiences that make a difference in a company.

Shared moments like this strengthen cohesion. They create memories, deepen relationships, and reinforce a genuine sense of belonging. At Tucher & Partner Ingenieure GmbH – part of SIERA, such moments are an important part of what turns a group of colleagues into a real team.

Appreciation creates connection

The celebration around Laura’s anniversary also highlights an important aspect of working life: appreciation should be visible. Recognizing commitment and loyalty sends a strong signal, both to the person being celebrated and to the wider team.

At Tucher & Partner Ingenieure GmbH – part of SIERA, appreciation means seeing both professional contribution and human impact. Laura has enriched the company in both ways. Her expertise, reliability, and positive character have helped shape everyday life within the team for many years.

That is why anniversaries like this deserve attention. They remind us that companies are not defined by structures alone, but by the people who bring them to life every day. They show that continuity, trust, and strong relationships are not abstract values, but something built over years of shared work.

Looking ahead

As much as a 10-year anniversary is a moment to look back, it is also a moment to look forward. The stories shared during the celebration reflected a decade of commitment, collaboration, and shared experience. At the same time, they pointed toward the future and the many projects and moments still to come.

For Tucher & Partner Ingenieure GmbH – part of SIERA, Laura’s anniversary is both a thank-you and a sign of confidence in the years ahead. The company is proud to have colleagues who contribute so much over such a long period of time and who help shape not only work, but also team spirit and company culture.

Thank you, Laura

A Message from the Founder: Florian von Tucher

In the mid-2000s my involvement in development aid took me to some of the most remote and impoverished regions of the world.

Northern Tibet, Mongolia, and Western China – where I was involved with the implementation of decentralised wastewater treatment systems, I realised I needed a deeper purpose. Though I later found success in real estate development, the desire to make a lasting impact never left me.

A pivotal moment occurred when I was invited to Ghana by my friend and mentor, Cardinal Peter Turkson, who was the head of the Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development of the Catholic Church at the time. He has since been appointed the Pontifical Chancellor of the Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Chancellor of Social Sciences.

Cardinal Turkson had a profound influence on me. His invitation gave me the opportunity to witness firsthand the development needs of the country. We reflected on my experiences in China, and together, we envisioned a model of development that would take root in one community and gradually expand. We believed that small, strategic steps could lead to lasting transformation – just like the biblical parable of the mustard seed, which grows into something far greater than its humble beginnings.

Cardinal Turkson’s steadfast belief in this vision and encouragement became the base upon which the Mustard Seed Foundation was built. His unwavering support, wisdom, and guidance helped shape not just the mission of the Foundation, but my personal journey as well.

With the encouragement of the Cardinal and the Integral Human Development (IHD) office, we initially operated with the IHD before establishing the Mustard Seed Foundation as a stand-alone organisation in Germany. We have been fortunate to receive support from numerous European donors, a humble reminder that our mission is not just about individual efforts – it is about collective impact.

Collaboration has been a cornerstone of our work. We have partnered with organisations like Caritas and Rotary International to extend our reach. One of our most impactful collaborations has been with M&P Group, who donate their engineering concepts, project supervision, and high-quality technical execution, allowing 100% of donor contributions to go into the projects themselves.

One such initiative is the Clean Water Initiative, launched in partnership with M&P Group. In 2024, we completed a well in Ndoss, Senegal, significantly improving agricultural efficiency and empowering the local community. This project epitomises our commitment to sustainable solutions – starting with clean water and gradually building infrastructure that supports long-term development.

Our work aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on poverty alleviation, economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, and humanitarian aid. Our model is simple but effective: start with one project and expand, year by year, to create an ecosystem of support. A water well leads to a school, which leads to renewable energy solutions, which, in turn, fosters economic opportunities. Over time, these efforts cumulatively transform entire regions.

The Mustard Seed Foundation is a testament to what can be achieved with nothing more than a vision, a strong commitment, and the faith of a mustard seed. Yet, none of this would have been possible without the belief and encouragement of Cardinal Peter Turkson. His unwavering faith in our mission gave me the courage to persevere through challenges and continue expanding our impact. As we continue our work, we remain driven by the belief that small beginnings can yield great outcomes, inspiring hope and lasting change in the communities we serve. His legacy of faith, vision, and commitment to human dignity is deeply woven into every initiative we undertake.
